Wisenet Viewer: How to Reset Lost Password on a Mac

Issue Summary

The administrator password for Wisenet Viewer is lost and needs to be reset. This article provides instructions for resetting a lost password on a Mac. These instructions are for the Apple M series products. For Intel-based Macs, Google finding the hidden directories on End of Life Apple products.

Resolution

To reset the password:

1. From the Mac desktop, select Finder and then Applications.
   
   
2. Click the Go menu in the Finder menu bar.
   
   
3. Select Go to Folder.
   
   
4. In the dialog box that appears, enter ~/Library.
   
   
5. Navigate to Application Support > Hanwha Vision > WisenetViewer.
   
   
6. Remove the management.sqlite file.
   
   
7. Relaunch the Wisenet Viewer. 
   
   This is now a blank copy of Wisenet Viewer.
   
   
8. Set up the connection to the recorder along with any other settings you may have had.
