To maintain standards, Hanwha Vision uses the web UI for all knowledge base articles about product configuration. Open Chrome, enter the IP Address of your device into the URL bar, and press enter. If you are not using the web UI to configure your device, please refer to the user manual for your product.
Summary
The function of multicasting is to put the job of distributing the camera streams onto the switch. This article provides instruction for enabling this feature.
Enabling Multicasting
To enable multicasting on Hanwha cameras:
- Click the Gear icon at the top of the interface.
- Navigate to Basic > Video profile.
- In the Multicast section.
- Enter a valid multicast IP in the IP address field.
NOTE: Valid multicast IPs range from 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255
- Enter a valid port in the Port field.
NOTE: The port range allowable is 1024 to 65534. Be sure you are
not using a port already being utilized by some other device or
service. Port 3702 cannot be used. - Enter a valid Time To Live (TTL) in the TTL field.
NOTE: The default setting is 5.
- Click Apply.
Switch Settings
NOTE: Refer to the manual of your switch manufacturer for proper settings.
Ubiquiti Switch
Settings for a Ubiquity switch:
- Log in to the Unifi Portal on the Ubiquiti switch.
NOTE: IGMP Snooping must be enabled on all network switches between the
camera and the display device. - Select Networks > Default.
- Check the box next to Enable for IGMP Snooping.
Netgear Switch
