Summary
This article provides instructions for deleting a virtual disk in a pre-boot environment.
IMPORTANT: This process will destroy ALL data on the virtual disk.
Do NOT proceed if this data is important to you.
Deleting a Virtual Disk
To delete a virtual disk in a pre-boot environment:
- Press the F2 key during the POST to open the System Setup menu.
OR
Press the F10 key to open the Lifecycle Controller menu and select System Setup > Advanced Hardware Configuration.
- On the System Setup Main Menu screen, click Device Settings.
- On the Device Settings screen, click the target RAID controller and select the 14th generation system controller.
- Click Main Menu on the Dashboard View.
- Click Virtual Disk Management on the Main Menu screen.
- Click the virtual disk to be deleted on the Virtual Disk Management screen.
- Select Delete Virtual Disk from the Operation pull-down menu and click Go.
- Read the warning displayed, then check the box next to Confirm, and click Yes.
- Click OK once the The Operation has been performed successfully message is displayed.
- Ensure the deleted virtual disk is not listed on the Virtual Disk Management screen.
