This article explains how to claim/unclaim devices for use in SightMind from Cloud Portal.
Setting up the Device
Accessing the Setup Page
To open the Setup page:
- Log in to SightMind.
- Hover your mouse pointer over the left side of the browser.
- When the menu panel appears, click Settings.
Viewing Device Information
To view detailed information on a claimed device:
- Select Devices > Device setup on the Setup page.
NOTE: It is recommended to update the camera information if you change the
camera’s AI application settings after claiming it. Click Reload to update
the device with the latest information. -
Select a device to view additional detail.
The following information is available on the Device setup page:

- Name – Device name
- Model – Device model name
- Location – Location where the device is assigned
- Area – Area where the device is assigned

AI rule – Active or Inactive
Active if the detection rule is set on the device, Inactive if no rule is set. - Serial number – Serial number
- MAC address – MAC address

License – Device license type and status
If you are using a 1-year license.
There are three types of license durations: 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years. The number of days remaining until your license expires is displayed.If you are using a trial license.
If the license has expired.
If there is no license attached to the device.

NOTE: When you select a device from the list, you can check camera video
thumbnails and detailed information.
Claiming a Device
To claim a device for use in SightMind from devices registered in Cloud Portal:
- Navigate to the Device setup page.
- Click Claim.
All devices registered in the Cloud Portal are displayed.
- Select the device to claim to SightMind.
- Click Claim.
Unclaiming a Claimed Device
To unclaim a device on SightMind:
- Navigate to the Device setup list.
- Select the checkbox for the device(s) to unclaim.
- Click Unclaim.
A confirmation message appears.
- Click OK.
NOTE: You can also unclaim a device from the detail info pane that appears
when you select the device from the device list.
