Summary
This article details the set up steps to play required audio files in the Hanwha IP Speaker for an alarm event. An IP speaker, such as SPA-H100, can be set up to play audio.
Setting up the IP Speaker
To set up the IP speaker:
- Login to the Speaker with username and password.
The home screen appears.
NOTE: If the speaker firmware version is less than 3.4.4.12, download v3.4.4.12 or
the latest version and upgrade. Select Environment Setting > System Management >
System Upgrade. After upgrading the firmware, put the speaker to factory default
settings. - Select Environment Setting > Time Setting.
- Set the correct time zone, then click Apply.
- Select Environment Setting > Network Setting, then set the required static or DHCP IP address.
- Click Apply.
- Select Environment Setting > Device Operation setting.
- Set Operation mode to Speaker.
- Click Apply.
- Set the power mode to PoE+. Set to PoE only if PoE+ power is not available.
- Click Apply.
- To add audio files, select Operation Setting > Source File Management.
- Browse to add audio files (mp3, wav, tts).
- Click Upload.
Uploaded audio files appear in the Source File List.
- To add TTS files, select Operation Setting > TTS File Management.
- Enter a Title and TTS Content.
- Select the Language and Gender from the drop-down lists.
- Select a Start Chime and End Chime from the drop-down lists.
- Click Save.
Checking Audio Files
To check audio files:
- Under the Source File list, select Number the last checkbox in the row.
- Click the play button to play audio file.
Setting Speaker to Controller Mode
- To place the device into Controller mode, select Environment Setting > Device Operation setting.
- Set the Operation mode to Controller.
- Click Apply.
Registering the Speaker
To register the speaker:
- Select System Setting > Device Registration.
- Move the speaker under Device Search to Registered Device.
NOTE: No entries are needed in System Setting > Source Registration.
- Select System Setting > Zone Registration and enter the Zone Name, IP address, and select audio_output_1 from the Channel drop-down list.
- Click Apply.
- Select System Setting > Event & Preset.
- Under Event, click on IP address field and choose the Speaker IP from dropdown.
- Select drycontact_in_1 from the CP drop-down list.
NOTE: No entries are needed in Broadcasting Routing, DSP, or Source Stream.
- Under Local File Play, for Use select checked.
- Click on IP address field and choose the Speaker IP from dropdown.
- Under Local File, select audio file from list.
- Under Playcount select 1 or more as needed.
NOTE: No entries are needed in CP out.
Bench Testing
To test the alarm, short the GND and Alarm-In pins in the back of the speaker momentarily to trigger an event, which will start playing the event audio.
