Summary
This article details how to test the camera to verify that the OnCloud Edge Recording is working properly.
Testing the Edge Recording
To verify that OnCloud Edge Recording is working:
- Log in to OnCloud with username and password.
- Select the appropriate camera.
- Click on the camera name to open the Camera Detail View.

Verify that the camera is streaming live video.
- Verify that Events are populating in the right-hand column.
- Depending on the location of the camera, you may need to trigger motion events on the camera by moving an object or person past the camera.

If events are not populating, click Cameras in the top menu, then click the the three dots beside a camera, then Camera Settings.
This opens the Device Information page in the camera settings.
- Click Analytics Settings.
- To turn on detection for events, click the switches to flip them to the right

- To change detailed settings for an event, click the pencil
.
Adjusting the Camera Settings
To adjust the camera settings:

From the Device Information page, switch to Video Settings.

Adjust the bitrate, frame rate and other settings as needed.
NOTE: Changing video settings may reduce the number of days the SD card can store.
- Change other settings as needed.
- Click Storage to configure Retention Days.

Click Edit to change the number of days the camera retains Standard Quality video.
NOTE: The system calculates the maximum allowed days based on the installed SD card.
- Select the number of days required.
- Click Save to set the number of Standard Quality retention days.
