Summary
This article describes how to add an embedded device such as an XRN under a server or as a standalone server, add WAVE embedded licenses, and enable a Use License for every channel monitored in WAVE.
Adding Embedded Device to WAVE
To add embedded device under a server:
- Log into WAVE.
- Right click on Server.
- Select Add Device.
- Enter the IP address, port, and credentials of the device.
NOTE: Embedded devices can also be added by clicking Add Device from the top left
three-line menu, which adds the device as a separate server.
Applying Embedded Licenses to WAVE
Buy embedded licenses such as WAVE-EMB-04, WAVE-EMB-08, WAVE-EMB-16, etc., equal to the number of channels needed to be monitored in WAVE.
To apply the embedded license:
- Right click the PC Name and select System Administration.
- Select Licenses from the top menu.
- Enter the embedded licenses and click Activate License.
The activated licenses appear as Bridge Licenses in WAVE.
Enabling Bridge License Per Channel
To enable a bridge license per channel:
- Select the channel to view in WAVE.
- Right click and select Camera Settings.
- Enable Use License slider for this channel.
- Repeat the steps for each channel monitored in WAVE.
Video from any selected channel can now be viewed in WAVE Client.
NOTE: Smart Search is not available for NVR video in WAVE. Server Settings/Storage
Management will not show any storage, since video will continue to be stored in the
embedded device.
