Summary
If a camera is old and so long discontinued that is no longer serviced, or no replacement is available, it can be a security risk. Because of these risks, HealthPro's warranty feature has been extended to incorporate the life cycle stage of the camera, to minimize the attack surface from an IT perspective, and to improve project planning and continuity for security and surveillance.
The Life cycle dashboard now shows the warranty start and end dates, the production date, but also flags the model for any End of Production insights.
Hanwha Policy
Hanwha Vision is committed to the cyber security of our products and provides users with cybersecurity-related firmware updates for up to 5 years after their EOL and Warranty date. Please see the Firmware Long-term Support Policy for Cyber Security to completely understand Hanwha's commitment to your device's security.
The Life Cycle Dashboard
The Life cycle dashboard shows exportable tables that describe the state of the warranty.
NOTE: Exporting the tables as a CSV provides more detailed information.
The Warranty expired tab only shows red or yellow flags, which signifies that the device is out of warranty.
-
Red (cyber security): Cyber security risk because the model reached End of Production more than 5 years ago. Hanwha has stopped supporting it with firmware updates addressing cyber security vulnerabilities.
-
Red (discontinued): Discontinued because the model recently reached End of Production (within the past 5 years). No direct replacement available.
-
Yellow: Still in production, but out of warranty.
The Still in Warranty tabs show yellow or green flags.
-
Yellow: The device is no longer in production, but is still covered under warranty.
-
Green: The device is still in warranty, actively in production, and fully supported.
