Issue Summary
There were sites where our own network cameras were linked with Genetec. Multiple profiles were configured and used for event and continuous recording.
However, the camera video sometimes does not play in Genetec VMS, with the network cameras displaying the following pop-up message: Video cannot be played back with the configured profile. It will be changed to the optimized profile.
ConfigChange log messages were repeatedly generated in the System LOG.
The problem occurred when Genetec VMS attempted to stream high-resolution H.265 video from the camera web page. For H.265 codec, the camera webpage supports video playback up to 720p.
The problem also occurred because the Webpage attempted to change the video to a playable 720p resolution while Genetec VMS attempted to restore the resolution to 1080p.
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Maintain an up-to-date browser.
- Ensure that the camera firmware is current.
- Use H.264 codec or change the resolution (from 1080p to 720p).
