Issue Summary
An NVR needing repairs was replaced with a replacement (used) at a site. Using a mobile DDNS connection caused a problem where the site video was shown to the previous user.
Wisenet DDNS works with the MAC address and key value. If the user of a device with a specific MAC address changes, the previous user can still view the video.
Other users can access the DDNS when:
- The existing user has not deleted the corresponding device ID from Wisenet mobile.
- A security company manages a single DDNS with identical IDs and passwords in common.
-
The device list has not been deleted from the Wisenet DDNS.
The automatic registration integrated with P2P is not applied in this case.
Resolution
To avoid this issue:
- Do not use substitutes (used products). Reselling our products to others is not covered by the warranty.
- Provide on-site customer support with new products.
- When the IP address of the device has changed, connect to Wisenet DDNS and update the new IP address information.
- When disposing of the product, follow the procedures below to ensure that no customer information remains.
- Perform factory reset to delete all configurations, data, and information.
- Handle storage media separately.
- Remove and safely dispose of storage media such as SD cards and HDDs.
- If important data is included, use a professional data removal service.
