Summary
HALO Smart Sensor can send Generic Event messages to WAVE via the External Messaging feature. These events can be used to trigger notifications in the WAVE and Event Rules. This article provides instructions for sending Generic Event Messages to WAVE.
Sending Generic Event Messages to WAVE
To send Generic Event Messages to WAVE:
- Enter the IP address of the HALO Smart Sensor into a web browser.
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Scroll down to the External Messaging section.
- Next to Protocol, select the radio button for HTTP.
- In the Set string field, enter http://172.16.10.66:7001/api/createEvent?caption=%NAME%&description=%EID%
This URL contains the IP address of the WAVE server and the default port for Generic Events.
- Select the On radio button to enable the Set string.
- Enter the User name and Password to connect to the WAVE Client.
- Click Save.
NOTE: When HALO Smart Sensor is triggered, the events are sent to
the WAVE Client Generic Event collector and displayed in the
Notifications section of the WAVE Client.
