Summary
Cameras that record directly to the Cloud require a minimum amount of upstream bandwidth to ensure all video is processed and recorded to the Cloud. Not having enough upload bandwidth to support Camera recording to the Cloud can result in recording gaps. This article provides troubleshooting tips when cameras with a Cloud CVR license do not consistently record to the Cloud.
Addressing the Gaps
To ensure there is enough bandwidth on your Camera network to support consistent recording to the Cloud, you must calculate the minimum bandwidth requirements for a site using the OnCloud bandwidth Calculator. To calculate the minimum bandwidth requirements:
- Log in to Cloud Portal.
- Navigate to OnCloud.
- Click the Building icon at the top right to start your dashboard.
- Select Tools > Bandwidth Estimate.
The estimate appears.
- Confirm there is enough upload bandwidth allocated to your Camera network based on the minimum bandwidth calculator for your site.
- Consider adjusting video settings including bandwidth and frame rate to reduce the amount of bandwidth required for upload.
