Applies to: Wisenet Wave server version 6.0 and later
Issue Summary
Sometimes after upgrading a WAVE server to version 6.0 or higher, the database may fail to sync. This failure can cause servers and cameras within the system to repeatedly toggle between online and offline status. This article describes the process to restore synchronization across the Hive (merged server).
NOTE: A similar issue may occur when adding a new server to an existing Hive running
version 6.0 or later.
Resolution
Because all servers in a Hive share the same database, restoring from a healthy backup forces the entire Hive to re-synchronize, resolving the issue.
To restore proper synchronization across the Hive:
- Identify a WAVE server in the Hive that is not toggling between online/offline and not experiencing synchronization issues.
- Log in to WAVE.
- Select Main Menu > System Administration > Advanced.
- In the Backup and Restore section, click Create Backup.
- In the dialog that opens, select a location on the local file system.
- Enter a file name for the backup, then click Save.
- Select Main Menu > System Administration > General.
- In the Backup and Restore section, click Restore from Backup.
- In the dialog that opens, find the desired database backup file (*.db) and click Open.
- Click OK in the confirmation dialog to restore the database.
Servers restart automatically when the System is restored from backup.
NOTE: You may need to restart Wisenet WAVE clients after restoring a database.
