Cloud Portal: How do I use the storage calculator?

This article describes how to use storage calculation tools in OnCloud.

Calculating Storage

To calculate storage: 

1. Log in to Cloud Portal.
   
   
2. Navigate to OnCloud.
   
   
3. Click the Building icon at the top right.
   
   
   
   

   NOTE: If you do not see this icon, you do not have permission to view the dashboard.

4. Click Tools.
   
   

Creating a New Storage or Bandwidth Estimate

On the Tools page, you can create a new storage or bandwidth estimate. You can also:

• Search for existing estimates by name.
  
  
• Sort estimates by type, creator, most recent modifier, and last modified date.
  
  
• Set a custom date range.

To edit the estimate:

1. Click the three dots on an existing estimate to edit, duplicate, delete, or print it.
   
   
   
   
2. Click Edge Storage Estimate.
   
   
3. On the New Storage Estimate page, enter the required information on the left side of the page to create your estimate. The summary is shown on the right side of the page.
   
   
4. Select a predefined bitrate, or set a custom bitrate.
   
   
   
   
5. Select a storage size for Slot 1 and Slot 2, if applicable to your camera.
   
   
   
   
6. Set the minimum number of SQ (standard quality) days.
   
   
7. To add another configuration, click Add Additional Device Configuration.
   
   

8. Review the Summary section in the right pane, and adjust your device settings as needed to get the required results.
   
   

9. Click Save to save the Storage Estimate.
   
   

10. Enter a name in the Save Storage Estimate field.
    
    

11. Click Save.
    
    
    
    The estimate is added to the list on the Tools page.
    
    

NOTE: You can edit, duplicate, delete, or print the estimate by clicking the three 
dots and selecting the action you want to take.
