Summary
This article describes how to configure PTZ presets and set up the auto-run after action. The auto-run feature allows PTZ cameras to be configured to automatically execute an action after a PTZ preset or user-driven PTZ control has concluded. In this example, the PTZ sensor on the PNM-C34404RQPZ is configured with the auto-run action to return to a previously configured HOME position.
Configuring Presets
To configure the presets:
- Log into the camera via web browser (Chrome recommended).

- Select PTZ > PTZ Setup.
-
Use the embedded preview window and PTZ controls to position the camera to the desired location and zoom level.
- Click Save Preset.

- Assign a desired preset number and name and click OK.
-
Assign the After Action to Auto tracking > Auto run.
- Set the duration for which the camera should actively track objects using the tracking time drop-down menu.
This configuration directs the camera to run object auto-tracking after turning to the assigned preset. After the auto-tracking duration is completed, the PTZ returns to the Auto Run action as configured in the next step.

- Select the Auto Run tab, set the mode to HOME, and the duration to the desired value.
Duration = period of time the PTZ is inactive after the last action before it returns to the programmed mode (in this case – return to the home position).

- Click Apply to save the configuration.
