Summary
AI-assisted auto-tracking uses deep learning algorithms to process video footage in real-time and provide a proactive approach to security and monitoring. This article describes how to configure AI-enabled object-based auto tracking. In this article, the PNM-C34404RQPZ is used as an example. The same process applies to any Hanwha Vision Camera that supports AI-assisted auto-tracking.
Configuring Auto-Tracking
To configure auto-tracking:
- Log into the camera via web browser (Chrome recommended).

- Select Analytics > Auto Tracking.

- Use the preview pane and the PTZ controls to position the camera.

- Left click, hold, and drag rectangular regions to create Exclusion Areas in which objects SHOULD NOT be tracked.

- Select the object types that should be tracked by the PTZ.

- Select the appropriate settings in the Configuration Menu to optimize tracking performance:
Camera Height: Allows camera to more accurately manage zoom level/distance from tracked object.
Zoom: Allows camera to manage configured zoom level on tracked object.
Maintain Object Size: Desired approximate size of tracked object in scene.
Display Indicator: Embeds a white rectangular bounding box around currently tracked object into streaming video.
Exclude Area: Deactivates tracking of object when it enters a configured exclusion zone.
Auto Release: Enables and sets duration to automatically end tracking of object after configured time
Re-Detect missing Objects: Enables and sets dwell time to attempt to re-engage a tracked objects that disappears from scene before finding a new object to track.
Action After Auto-Tracking: Sets behavior of camera after auto-tracking has concluded.
