Issue Summary
The admin user password for the local installation of Wisenet Viewer is lost and must be reset. This article provides instructions for resetting a lost password in Windows.
NOTE: This also deletes any added NVRs and custom channel names. It does not
change the logins or settings on the NVRs themselves. To reset a password to an
NVR, see How to factory reset your NVR password.
Resolution
To reset the password:
- If Wisenet Viewer is running, close it.
- Select the Windows Key + E.
- Navigate to C:\Users\Public\Documents\WisenetViewer.
- Delete the management.sqlite file.
- Run Wisenet Viewer.
- Agree to the EULA prompt and create a new admin password.
- Save the password in a secure location.
Recommended: After you add your NVRs, select Settings > Maintenance, and
create a Backup.
