Summary
This article describes configuring Text-to-Speech (TTS) announcements on the SPA-D1000 controller and associated speakers. This article details how to register devices, set up zones and groups, create TTS messages, and schedule announcements.
Registering Speakers on the Controller
To register the speakers:
- Log in to the SPA-D1000 (controller).
- Select System Setting > Device Registration.
- Add all your speakers to the device list by selecting the checkboxes next to the devices in the Registered Device.
- Click Apply.
Registering Speakers as Sources and Configuring Source Control
To register the speakers (done for each speaker):
- Select System Setting > Source Registration.
- Select the speaker from the IP address drop-down menu.
- Enter a Source Name (e.g., “Lobby Speaker”).
- Set the Source Type to BGM.
- Scroll horizontally to the right side of the Source Registration webpage.
- Confirm CTRL is unchecked.
- Set CTRL Type to file_player.
Registering Zones
To register the zones for each speaker:
- Select System Settings > Zone Registration.
- Click +.
- Enter a Zone Name (e.g., “Lobby Zone”).
- Select the device from the IP Address drop-down menu.
There should be a 1:1 mapping of speakers to zones.
Creating Groups (Optional)
To create a group of speakers (zones) for TTS playback:
- Select System Settings > Group Setting.
- Click +.
- Select all desired zones.
- Enter a Group Name.
- Click Register.
Creating TTS Messages
For each TTS message:
- Log in to the speaker from which to play TTS.
- Select Operation Setting > TTS File Management.
- Enter a Title for your message.
- Select Language and Gender for TTS.
- Type your message in the provided field.
- Click Save.
- On the right, check the box for your TTS message.
- Click To BGM in the bottom right to assign the message.
Scheduling TTS Announcements
For each scheduled announcement:
- Return to the SPA-D1000 controller.
- Select System Settings > Scheduler.
- Click on the calendar to open the Setup menu.
- Enter a Name for the announcement.
- Select Time and Date.
- Select your Source.
- Select Zone or Group for playback.
- Set Source Sound to MP3 Play.
- Select your TTS file in the drop-down menu.
- Click Save.
