Summary
Hotspots are icons layered over the display of a camera. Each Hotspot icon is linked to a camera that provides an alternate view of the same area, or is the next camera to cover the path an object of interest may follow. This article provides instructions for adding hotspots in WAVE.
Adding Hotspots
To add a hotspot using WAVE:
- Log in to WAVE Client as either an Admin or Power User.
- Right-click the three bars in the upper left corner, then select System Administration.
- Click Camera List.
- Double-click a camera from the displayed list.
Alternatively, you can either right-click the camera in the resource panel OR right-click on the Viewing Grid, then select Camera Settings.
- At the top of the screen, click the Hotspots tab.
- Enable the Hotspots toggle, then click the Add button.
The next sequential Hotspot number is added to the center of the camera display.
- Drag the hotspot to any location on the camera display.
- Check the box for the Color, then check the box under Pointed to create a directional pointer (optional).
A list of hotspots displays at the bottom of the screen.
- In the list of hotspots, click any hotspot labeled Select Camera.
- To link a camera to the hotspot, click the desired camera from the list, then click OK.
- Apply changes to the remaining in the hotspots.
IMPORTANT: All hotspots not linked to a camera will be removed when
the dialog is closed.
