Summary
This article provides instructions for adding a Hanwha camera to Avigilon.
Adding the Camera
To add a camera:
- Log in to Avigilon.
- In the navigation bar on the left, right-click the server name and select Setup.
- Click the Connect/Disconnect Devices tile.
- Click Find Device, then select ONVIF from the Device Type drop-down menu.
- Log in using your credentials, then click OK.
- Click Connect.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop the camera from the top area to the server area.
- In the next window, click OK.
The camera should be connected.
- In the navigation bar on the left, right-click the camera, select the Setup tab, then click the Compression and Image Rate tile.
By default, Avigilon assigns Profile 1 MJPEG to Hanwha cameras for the recording profile.
If you change the codec in Avigilon from MJPEG to H.264 or H.265, Profile 1 on the camera will automatically update. Alternatively, you can manually change the codec in the camera’s browser page.
- Check the box next to Enable Low Bandwidth Stream to use Profile 2 H.264 on Hanwha cameras.
This will allow you to choose the desired resolution and frame rate for live viewing.NOTE: Single sensor Hanwha cameras typically display a Motion Detection
tile, while multi-sensor cameras generally do not. Regardless, it is
recommended to enable motion detection directly through the Hanwha
camera’s browser page. Regardless, it is recommended to enable motion
detection. From the camera’s browser page, navigate to
Camera Settings > Analytics > Motion detection, then check the box next
to Enable motion detection.
